A unique stone in the world

Matera is one of the oldest cities in the world thanks to the type of rock with which its Sassi are built. What is commonly called tuff is actually a sandstone called calcarenite which thanks to its marine origin often gives us fossils and shells that emerge silently after thousands of years. All the artefacts of BG Arte are made starting from large blocks of this precious and ancient stone.
